This are official Intel AHCI drivers I modded to support ICH8 (ASUS P5B / P5B SE). Support for ICH8 is added to original Intel drivers so this driver supports all chipsets supported from original driver + support for ICH8.
Drivers work on windows xp, windows vista, windows 7
These drivers have TRIM support for Solid State Disks (SSD)
TRIM is natively supported by Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 only. For Windows Vista or Windows XP you need to install additional tools to handle garbage collection (GC)

Driver update or install of this driver must be made manually.
Open device manager, select intel AHCI controller under IDE controllers section (Do this only for: device 31, function 2), right click and choose update driver. Select manual method and point to folder where new driver is extracted. Confirm unsigned driver install. Reboot.
Original driver is WHQL signed but after adding ICH8 support it is reported as unsigned. You have nothing to worry about if driver is downloaded from this website.

Installation instructions:
To install driver manually follow this steps:
1. Unpack driver in some easy to access folder
2. Open device manager
3. Under IDE ATA/ATAPI controller section right click intel's ide controller(Do this only for: device 31, function 2) and from popup menu click update
4. On all dialogs select last option and click next until HAVE DISK button appear
5. Click have disk button and browse to folder where driver is unpacked
6. Ignore all warnings if any and install driver
7. Reboot ( but not switch mode yet)
8. login in windows and wait
9. Windows will find new hardware and will install it. Wait few minutes to be sure there is not more messages, then reboot
10. Switch Intel’s controller mode to AHCI
